Tata Motors has a decent spread of sales and service network in India. In a bid to further expand that count, the homegrown automaker recently inaugurated eight new showrooms in a single day. Where? In Ahmedabad. Courtesy of the addition, the total count of retail outlets in Gujarat has reached 57.
When located strategically, new showrooms allow for a wider reach while lessening the pressure on existing ones. So, where have the newly opened retail facilities come up?
- Cargo Motors – SG Highway
- Karnavati Motors – Sanand
- Karnavati Motors – Vastral
- Progressive Cars – Ashram Road
- Progressive Cars – Motera
- Riya Autolink – Ambawadi
- Riya Autolink – Gota
- Riya Autolink – Vijay Char Rasta
In addition to selling the conventionally-powered cars, all these showrooms will also retail electric vehicles (EVs). Although prices for it aren’t out yet, the recently revealed Xpres-T Electric sedan will also be available. Tata Motors wants to make the best use of Gujarat’s EV policy and give those EV sales a nudge.
Here’s what Shailesh Chandra, who is the president of the Passenger Vehicles Business Unit at Tata Motors, said about the development in a press release:
Tata Motors is the fastest growing brand in Gujarat, with a YoY growth of 95% in FY21. We are now priming for our next phase of progression through an aggressive retail expansion, making our New Forever range of cars, UVs and EVs available to all.
With no real competition at the moment, the Nexon EV is making a case for itself too. It is by far the bestselling electric car sold (for personal use) in the country. Besides that, the standard Nexon, Harrier and Altroz are pushing the sales numbers in the right direction. Earlier this month, Tata Motors introduced #Dark Editions for all those four models. Here’s a question, if you had to buy one of the #Dark Editions, which would it be?
