Do you remember the updated Macan that debuted a few months ago? And, of course, you know what the Taycan is. Well, Porsche has landed both those models on Indian soil. The crossover is available in three variants and the pure-electric sports saloon in two. Let’s look at the new Macan first. The new Porsche Macan range starts at Rs 83.21 lakh.

There’s no Turbo variant anymore. Sad? Not really, because the remaining three derivatives have a lot to offer. Design changes first. The new Macan gets a revised front grille, a redesigned rear diffuser and reprofiled headlamps. As you’d expect, the alloy wheels are new too. The GTS derivative dials in more sportiness with blacked-out elements, larger wheels, bespoke paint schemes and a more aggressive rear diffuser.

The changes indoors are more extensive. The updated crossover packs a redesigned dashboard, which incorporates touch-sensitive controls with haptic response functionality. In addition, the gear lever has gone down a size, and the analogue clock is now a standard feature. Besides those changes, the Macan also gets new upholstery options.

As standard, all variants come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. Given below are the engine specifications and performance numbers.

As you’d expect, the list of features is quite extensive. It includes electric front seats, tyre pressure monitoring system, LED headlamps, cruise control, Lane Departure Warning and Porsche Hill Hold. Other features such as three-zone automatic climate control, a 10-speaker sound system, auto start-stop and support for Apple CarPlay with Siri voice recognition are also available.

This is the last conventionally-powered Macan that Porsche will ever produce. The next-generation model will be pure electric. The question is – would you buy one now or wait for the zero-emissions version?
