The Lamborghini Huracan was always a looker. But the ability to make it go topless works just as well as a jab of unadulterated adrenaline right into the heart. And then, for that extra kick for enthusiasts, strip it off the all-wheel-drive system. What do you get? This – the Huracan Evo RWD Spyder. For the record, RWD stands for rear-wheel-drive, and Spyder is what Lambo stamps its convertible cars with. The price? Well, it is Rs 3.54 crore.

Riding right behind the seats is a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10. It puts out 602bhp/560Nm, all of which is harnessed by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The rear-wheel-drive Huracan Spyder can catapult to 100kmph from nothing in just 3.5 seconds and reach 324kmph at full stretch. Compared to the coupe, the convertible is a tad bit slower to accelerate and has a slightly lower top speed. But none of that matters because, with the roof down, the bellow of that amazing V10 even clearer.

The car’s party-piece is, of course, its retractable soft-top. It is available in a range of colours. The electric roof takes 17 seconds to fold and find a space in the boot. And one can perform that at speeds of up to 50kmph. Quite a flaunt factor, that!

As for the features, the baby bull packs stuff like an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, powered ORVMs, 19-inch wheels wrapped with Pirelli P Zero tyres and Performance Traction Control System. Yes, there’s the ANIMA system on offer too, which brings in multiple driving modes. Obviously, there’s an options list. That’s where buyers would find the electronic damper control system, 20-inch alloys and ceramic brakes. Those who want to personalise their Lambo can refer to Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program.

The Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD Spyder was unveiled to the world in May last year. Had it not been for the infamous pandemic, the convertible bull would have arrived in India last year. But you know what they say – better late than never!
