Tata Motors has finally unveiled the prices of the Xpres-T EV. It starts at Rs 9.54 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.64 lakh. The subcompact sedan is available in four trim levels, covering two battery sizes and one electric motor. Here’s the complete list:

XZ+-Rs 10.64 Lakh

The prices mentioned above include subsidies basis the FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric & Hybrid vehicles) scheme. What’s not included are the incentives extended by state governments. Those discounts/benefits will vary according to the EV policies. In other words, the on-road price for an EV could be different in Delhi than in Punjab or in Maharashtra.

The Xpres-T EV falls under Tata Motors’ Xpres brand portfolio. That means the car is available exclusively for commercial purposes. Powering it is a single electric motor that pumps out 40bhp and 105Nm of torque. The top speed is 80kmph.

As mentioned in the table above, there are two variants. The Xpres-T 165 comes with a 16.5kWh battery, which offers a maximum range of 165km. On the other hand, the Xpres-T 213 packs a 21.5kWh battery, efficient enough for up to 213km on a single charge. Charging times? Using a recommended rapid charger, the smaller battery will take around 110 minutes to charge from zero to 80 per cent. However, courtesy of a faster electrical network, the wait time (from 0-80 per cent charge) for the bigger battery is about 90 minutes. And yes, both variants can be plugged into a 15amp feed (standard home/office plug) as well. Using that, the car can take up to 11.5 hours to charge from zero to 100 per cent.

The Xpres-T also comes with a decent list of features. It includes automatic climate control, 14-inch alloy wheels, dual airbags, a Bluetooth/USB-compatible music system, all four power windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs.

Those who want a similarly-sized EV for personal use can settle for the Tigor EV. Apart from that, there’s also an option for the Nexon EV. That is presently the bestselling electric vehicle in the country.
