Earlier this week, Volvo Cars India confirmed the opening of a new dealership in Hyderabad. Now, the company has announced that yet another dealership is operational. The new one has been set up in the capital of Tamil Nadu – Chennai. And it wears a rather apt name – Volvo Tamilnadu. The carmaker has partnered with Prakar Automotive for the new touchpoint. Prakar Automotive is part of a group that deals in various businesses, including mining, automobiles, logistics and engineering.
Location? The showroom is located at Anna Salai Road, whereas the workshop is in TVK Industrial Estate. Both facilities have been designed on Volvo Retail Experience concept. The showroom spans over 7,000 sq. ft, and the workshop is spread over 10,000 sq. ft.
Here’s what Charles Frump, who is the managing director at Volvo Cars India, said about this latest development:
Chennai is a very important market in India as it is among the fastest-growing metro cities and a home to aspiring and affluent families. Our new dealership will help us in reaching out to the growing market and achieving our goal of providing safe and sustainable luxury mobility to our customers in India.
He further said:
I am confident that Volvo Tamilnadu will help us in achieving our objectives in the market.
B Prabhakaran, dealer principal and managing director, Volvo Tamilnadu, added:
We are delighted to associate with a brand that is known for its distinguished Scandinavian luxury and world-class safety technology. We are committed to providing our customers with best-in-class services and contributing to Volvo cars success in India.
There’s no other way of putting it – Volvo has put on the accelerator to broaden its reach in India. Besides opening more dealerships this year, the brand will also introduce new models. Soon after it begins deliveries of the new S60 sedan, Volvo Cars India will launch the XC40 Recharge – an all-electric SUV.
