Skoda Auto India was the first carmaker in India which not only offered warranty and roadside assistance for four years on all its models but also gave its customers the opportunity to add a four-year service package to the mix. Now, however, the Czech carmaker has taken the after-sales service to a new level. It has launched something called Skoda Shield Plus and it is available with the Rapid, Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq. In other words, customers purchasing any Skoda car can opt for Skoda Shield Plus.
So, what does it get you? It essentially has three aces up its sleeve. One, a four-year vehicle warranty. For the first year, the car is covered under a comprehensive insurance plan and for the following three years it is under a third-party coverage. Two, roadside assistance for the fifth and sixth year of car ownership. For the first four, you are already covered as mentioned above. Three, Skoda Shield Plus brings additional warranty period of the fifth and sixth year or 1,50,000km, whichever comes earlier. Pretty neat!
Here’s what Zac Hollis, who is the director of sales, service and marketing at Skoda Auto India Pvt. Ltd., said in an official release:
“Skoda Shield Plus is a unique offering in the Indian automotive industry. It is designed to ensure owning a Skoda is a hassle-free and an enjoyable experience. It ascertains that ‘Peace of Mind comes standard with a Skoda’.”
The Skoda Shield Plus package is part of the India 2.0 project, which will be spearheaded for Volkswagen Group India by Skoda Auto India. The Skoda Shield Plus is obviously available for all new Skoda car buyers. However, if you are an existing Skoda customer and your vehicle is still under the four-year warranty program, you can purchase the newly introduced package and extend the nuisance-free period of car ownership.
