Honda has been missing from action for a while. But that’s set to change as it lines up the launch of the Amaze facelift. When? The date is August 18, 2021. So, those interested in landing one of them in their parking spaces can now place their booking. There are two ways of doing that. The first is by taking the old-school route and connecting with the nearest authorised dealer. And the second is visiting Honda Cars India’s online booking portal. If you take the first option, the minimum token amount to be paid is Rs 21,000. However, opt for the online transaction, and you would have to pay just Rs 5,000.
As you’d expect, Honda hasn’t released much about the Amaze facelift. In fact, it has kept all the cards facing down. All it has confirmed is that the refreshed model “will come with a stylish new look, striking exteriors changes and enhanced interiors”. If we go by the trend, the Amaze facelift will flaunt revised front and rear bumpers, tweaked grille design, reprofiled headlamps and taillamps and some extra features. Indoors, the upholstery is likely to be different too.
Rajesh Goel, who is the senior vice president and director of marketing & sales at Honda Cars India Ltd., says:
We are extremely excited to add another chapter to the success story of the model with the launch of New Amaze later this month. The new Amaze becomes even more premium, stylish and sophisticated. We are approaching the upcoming festive season with a fully refreshed line[1]up and hope to create fresh excitement in the market.
Even in its refreshed form, the Honda Amaze will continue with two engine and transmission options each. They are likely to be in the same state of tune as before. That means the 1.2-litre petrol will offer 89bhp/110Nm, whereas the 1.5-litre diesel will produce up to 99bhp/200Nm. Both powerplants will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Once launched, the Honda Amaze will renew its rivalry with other subcompact sedans such as the Ford Aspire, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Hyundai Aura.
