In a bid to expand its footprint into emerging and promising markets, Mercedes-Benz India has opened two new outlets in a single day. One is a 3S (Sales – Service – Spares) dealership in the city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan and the other is a service facility in the city of Hubli (also known as Hubballi), Karnataka. Both facilities in both cities claim the title of the first-ever luxury car outlet. With these two touchpoints up and running, Mercedes-Benz India has now reached a total of 96 outlets across 47 cities in India.
The German carmaker inaugurated the dealership in Jodhpur with T&T Motors. The facility is spread across 10,500 sq. ft. and attracted an investment of Rs 5 crores. It includes a 3-car display layout and 4 dedicated service bays. The facility will be run by 20+ professionally trained people and will cater to neighbouring districts of Pali, Sirohi, Jalore, Sanchore, Barmer, Jaisalmer and Nagaur.
Over to the outlet in Hubli. Unlike the one in Jodhpur, the facility in Hubli is a service outlet. It is, in fact, the eighth service facility that the company has opened in South India in the last 15 months. Spread across an area of 5,500 sq. ft., it was built with a total investment of Rs 3 crores. The service facility – Akshaya Motors – has 5 dedicated service bays for preventive maintenance and repair and, Mercedes-Benz India claims, it can service over 1,000 cars every year with a team of 30 trained professionals. Obviously, the service facility will cater to neighbouring towns. The list includes Belgaum, Hosapete and Ballari.
Mercedes-Benz India has had quite a busy year. Earlier this month, it launched the brand-new CLS in India. The four-door coupé became the twelfth product launch by India’s largest luxury carmaker this year.
