Saar: Apart from flaunting some additional sporty elements, the sexy sedan gets some new features as well.

Mercedes-Benz India has launched a new trim of its smallest and sexiest sedan. Dubbed as the Mercedes-Benz CLA Urban Sport, it is available in the petrol-fed 200 form and the diesel-powered 200 d. While the former is priced at Rs 35.99 lakh, the latter wears a price tag of Rs 36.99 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom India).

So, what’s special about these new variants? Inside the cabin, the CLA Urban Sport gets two-zone climate control (for the front two passengers), rear AC vents, “Sport” floor mats and “Sport” illuminated door sills. The addition of rear AC vents is always a welcome feature in any car meant for India. On the outside, the new trim comes with “Sport” badge, carbon-style, boot-lid mounted spoiler and a new exterior paint – Cosmos Black.

Predictably, there are no mechanical changes to report. The CLA 200 Urban Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that puts out 184PS of power and 300Nm of torque. The diesel-fed CLA 200 d Urban Sport, on the other hand, gets a 2.15-litre mill that has 136PS/300Nm on tap. Both engines come mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission which feeds the oomph to the front wheels only. While the CLA 200 Urban Sport gets to 100kmph from a standstill in 7.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240kmph, those figures for the CLA 200 d Urban Sport stand at 9 seconds and 220kmph respectively.
