Saar: The carmaker wants to inspect 880 units of the sedan and replace the speedometer assembly and owner’s manual only in Zeta and Alpha variants.

India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has announced a service campaign for the Ciaz. The carmaker wants to inspect 880 units of the sedan and replace the speedometer assembly and owner’s manual. This service campaign impacts only the diesel-powered Zeta and Alpha variants of the car. The said units were manufactured between August 1, 2018, and August 21, 2018. Maruti Suzuki says that its authorised dealer network will voluntarily get in touch with the owners of the affected lot.

Needless to say, the entire process of inspection and replacement will be carried at no cost to the customer. If you don’t want to wait for the dealer to get in touch, you can yourself check whether your Ciaz falls under this campaign. All you need to do is go to Maruti Suzuki’s official website and enter the chassis number of the car. It starts with MA3 and is followed by a 14-character alpha-numeric code. For the uninitiated, the chassis number can be found on both the car’s invoice and registration documents.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz received a mid-life update in the month of August this year. Based on the information given above, only the latest iteration of the sedan falls under this service campaign. The car has been well received as it managed to garner over 10,000 bookings within the first month of its launch. Maruti Suzuki retailed more than 24,000 units of the Ciaz in the first half of the current fiscal year. As per a recent statement from Maruti Suzuki, the Ciaz holds a 28.8 per cent market share.

The Ciaz has always been a value-for-money proposition. As far as rivals are concerned, the Maruti sedan competes with the Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and the Volkswagen Vento. In case you are wondering what is on offer with the Ciaz, click here.
