Saar: Compared to its diesel-powered sibling, the LX 450d, the LX 570 is Rs 4,000 dearer. Like that will make a difference!
Lexus India today expanded the variant list of its LX SUV from one to two, by launching the LX 570. It is priced at Rs 2.33 crore (ex-showroom India) and if we get into the thousands of that price figure, the LX 570 is Rs 4,000 dearer than its diesel-fed sibling, the LX 450d. For someone considering to purchase an LX, the difference of a few thousand rupees won’t make a difference at all. The 2018 Lexus LX 570 was unveiled at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. Available in two configurations, two- or three-row of seats, India has got the latter.
The Lexus LX 570 gets its propulsion from a 5.7-litre V8 engine that pumps out 388PS of power and 546Nm of torque. It comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It routes the power to the road via a four-wheel drive system, which is rear biased in 40:60 ratio.
Will Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept Actually Carry LQ Nameplate?
As far as feature go, the Lexus LX 570 comes loaded to the brim. That’s something you’d expect from a Lexus flagship product. The list of highlights include leather upholstery, four-zone climate control, moonroof, park assist and blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert, powered tailgate, and 10 airbags. If all that is a bit old-school for your liking, the Lexus LX 570 also comes with a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, all-speed dynamic radar cruise control and a 12.3-inch infotainment display.
The Lexus LX is built on the same platform as the Toyota Land Cruiser 200. Both behemoths are based on a ladder-on-frame chassis, which has its positives when the going gets tough. That said, the Lexus is a more premium brand of the two, as has been the case with all Lexus-Toyota shared models. And is the case with all Lexus models on sale in India currently, the LX 570 will be brought in as a completely built unit. With the price announced, Lexus has also opened the bookings for the LX 570.
In India, the only real rival to the Lexus LX is the Range Rover.
