Saar: Bookings began in the month of April this year.
British carmaker Land Rover will launch the mid-life updates of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in India on June 28, 2018. The Tata-owned company commenced entertaining bookings for the said duo back in April this year. As far as prices are concerned, they are known already. While the Range Rover Sport will start at Rs 99.48 lakh and go up to Rs 1.72 crore, the Range Rover starts at Rs 1.74 crore and goes all the way up to Rs 2.5 crores. All prices are ex-showroom India.
As before, both models will be imported into India and that’s why their prices are way more than their respective rivals which are locally produced. Since both are essentially facelifts, there is no mechanical change to report. That said, there’s a lot more on offer than before. The added kit includes Pixel-laser LED headlights, Touch Pro Duo infotainment system which comprises of two 10-inch touchscreen displays, ‘Hot-Stone’ massage function for the seats and gesture-controlled sunblind operation. In terms of looks, the grille is new and so are the front and rear bumpers.

The standard SUV will borrow all the engines from the Range Rover Sport, apart from the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine that is offered in the SVAutobiography Dynamic variant. The said engine is tuned to deliver 566PS/700Nm and comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine, with the same tune, is also on offer in the LWB version of the Range Rover. In that, the variant which gets it is called the SVAutobiography.
It is worth mentioning that the above-mentioned SVAutobiography variants of the Range Rover aren’t present in the price list. Another variant which is available on the website but not in the price-list is the SVAutobiography LWB with the 2.0-litre Si4 PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicle) powertrain. We can expect these non-listed variants to get priced for India soon.
