Land Rover Discovery Sport Landmark Edition Launched At Rs 53.77 Lakh
Land Rover has expanded the variant list of its bestselling SUV – the Discovery Sport – in India by introducing the Landmark Edition. Carrying a price tag of Rs 53.77 lakh (ex-showroom India), it slots between the SE and HSE trims of the diesel-powered variants. Like those, the Discovery Sport Landmark Edition also comes with a seven-seat configuration.
Fun fact: Land Rover introduced the Discovery Sport Landmark Edition in the UK last year as part of its 70th-anniversary celebrations.
What’s special about it? Firstly, it is available in three exclusive paint shades – Narvik Black, Corris Grey and Yulong White. All three body paints are accompanied by a roof finished in Carpathian Grey shade. Secondly, the Discovery Sport Landmark Edition boasts a sportier front bumper, Graphite Atlas exterior accents and dark grey-coloured, 18-inch, 5-split spoke alloy wheels. Lastly, the interior features leather seats and headliner as well as dark-grey aluminium inserts around the centre console.
Underneath the bonnet is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine which is tuned to produce 180PS of power and 430Nm of torque. The oomph is harnessed and transferred to the wheels by a 9-speed automatic transmission. Land Rover claims that the Discovery Sport in this spec can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 9.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 188kmph.
As far as the list of features is concerned, the Discovery Sport Landmark Edition gets 10-way electrically adjustable front seats, 60:40 split second-row seats with slide and recline functions, cruise control with speed limiter, rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, two-zone climate control and a 10-speaker sound system mated to an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport range is priced between Rs 44.68 lakh to Rs 61.27 lakh (ex-showroom India). With that price list, it competes with the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Volvo XC60.
