Jeep India’s bestselling model – the Compass – has always been an enticing package. Its charm was enhanced last year when the company introduced two special editions – Bedrock and Black Pack – and a new range-topping trim – the Limited Plus. We also saw the quiet introduction of its petrol-automatic derivative in the Longitude (O) trim. To put another ace up its sleeve, Jeep India has introduced Mopar extended warranty packages for it.
Prices for the extended cover over and above the standard warranty are trim-dependent. For the Sport, the extended warranty price is Rs 25,000, whereas, for the Longitude and Limited trims, the package costs Rs 28,000 and Rs 32,000, respectively. What does the add-on bring? It adds an additional cover for 2 years and takes the odometer limit up from the standard 1,00,000km to 1,50,000km. If opted for, the extended warranty package will cover the Jeep Compass for 5 years/1,50,000km, whichever comes earlier.
There’s more! FCA confirms that the extended warranty package will enhance the car ownership experience by covering unforeseen repairs. The list includes minor roadside repairs, electrical, mechanical and accidental breakdowns, taxi and towing services, hotel benefits and return journey assistance. In case the car is sold to someone else, the extended warranty package can also be transferred to the new owner.
A few days ago, FCA India announced that in the first month of next month, it will start a recall campaign for the Compass. A total of 11,002 units, manufactured between December 18, 2017, and November 30, 2018, will be part of this campaign.
The Jeep Compass is currently priced between Rs Later this year, the Compass will get a new range-topping trim – the Trailhawk. It will sit above the Limited Plus trim and finally introduce the diesel-automatic combination that the Compass longs for.
