Believe it or not but Datsun is celebrating its fifth anniversary in India. To commemorate it, Datsun flagged off its third experience zone earlier this year, which would run for a three month period. Now though, the Japanese carmaker has gone ahead and introduced something called ‘Peace of Mind’ package for all its models on sale in India. It is also part of its celebrations and with the package, the Nissan-owned marque will offer 5 years/unlimited kilometres extended warranty. This is a first-in-class offer that India has never been offered before. Here’s what the package comprises:

• 5 years / unlimited kilometres warranty: Covers all technical bits and pieces of the car including the engine, AC compressor, ECU, alternator and shock absorbers.
• Free insurance for the first year of ownership period
• 24×7 Road Side Assistance
• Free pick and drop whenever the car is sent to an authorised workshop of scheduled services
• Special offers for government employees, both in service and retired

In a press release, Jerome Saigot, MD, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said:

The offers, which are part of Datsun’s ‘Peace of Mind’ package, are praiseworthy. But to add that icing on top of the cake, the package is also transferable to a new owner, in case the car is sold to someone during the active period of ‘Peace of Mind’. Additionally, the benefits of the package can be availed at all Nissan-Datsun touch points across India. These should help in getting a better resale value for all Datsun cars.
