Saar: Slated to be built in limited numbers, the special edition hatch flaunts a host of aggressive styling elements inside and out.

Pocket-friendly carmaker Datsun and unveiled a special edition of its Go hatchback at the ongoing Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2018. Dubbed as the Datsun Go-Live, it is the finished version of the concept that was showcased at the same event last year. Datsun says that the Go-Live model will be built in limited numbers to keep the exclusivity factor intact. Customers in Indonesia can go ahead and book one, while deliveries will only start in November 2018.

So, what has Datsun done to create the Go-Live version of the hatchback? Well, it has taken the top-spec variant of the refreshed Go model, which went on sale in May this year, as the base and added a host of sporty and aggressive design elements inside and out.

On the outside, Datsun has added an aero kit which brings in a front spoiler, sill extensions, rear roof spoiler and a rear diffuser. All those panels are finished in fluorescent yellow. The same colour is also added to the side mouldings, a hexagonal insert on the front grille and on the 15-inch alloy wheels. Datsun will offer the Go-Live edition in four exterior colours – black, white, silver and grey.

The same sort of styling is carried over to the cabin as well. The nearly all-black is livened with yellow-coloured seatbelts and stitching on the seats. The analogue instrument cluster also flaunts the same yellow accents, which go well with the mono-coloured MID (multi-information display). Other special design cues include glossy black surrounds on the AC vents and CVT casing and, interior sill finishing plates. Pretty neat!

We think the special edition Datsun Go-Live looks great. And as is the case will all Datsun products, it won’t cost a fortune. Datsun India is currently prepping the launch of the mid-life updates of the Go and Go+ models. We expect a launch around the Diwali this year. As far as the Go-Live edition is concerned, there is no reason for Datsun to skip introducing it in India, albeit after the introduction of the standard models. What do you think of this special edition Go? Do let us know in the comments below.
