Saar: The 4.0-litre twin-turbo petrol mill pumps out 550PS of power and 770Nm of torque.
Welcome to the uber-rich side of the automotive world. Welcome to the world of Bentley Motors. The British luxury brand launched the Bentayga V8 Petrol in India at a price of Rs 3.78 crore (ex-showroom). This variant of the luxurious SUV sits below the W12 variant, which started the Bentayga’s innings in India.
So, what does the V8 petrol has under the hood? It is a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged mill that puts out 550PS of power and 770Nm of torque. It comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel-drive system. The setup is enough for it to complete the nought to 100kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 290kmph. Those figures aren’t bad for something that weighs 5kg shy of 2.4 tonnes in the 5-seater configuration.
Speaking of which, the Bentley Bentayga V8 is available in three seating configurations. Apart from the 4-seater layout, it can be ordered with a 5- or 7-seater layout as well. Needless to say, the boot volume also differs with different seat layouts.
On the outside, the standard features kit includes 20-inch, ten-spoke alloy wheels, a choice of seven exterior paint shades, full LED adaptive headlamps with high beam assist, LED taillamps, twin-exhaust tailpipes and, a panoramic roof with tilt and slide front panel and fixed rear panel. Inside the cabin, Bentley gives a choice of five premium grade hide interior colours, 5-seater layout, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 60GB onboard storage, voice control and a 10-speaker sound system.
If you think the standard Bentley Bentayga V8 isn’t floating your boat, you can spend more to get some tasty optional extras. That list includes a choice of 21- and 22-inch alloy wheels, privacy glazing, choice of more exterior paints including dual-tone, 4- or 7-seat configuration, rear seat displays and hands-free tailgate.
In India, the Bentley Bentayga V8 Petrol will compete with the Range Rover Autobiography, Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and its stepsisters, the soon-to-be-launched Porsche Cayenne and the already-available Lamborghini Urus. Not to forget, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is India-bound too.
