To strengthen its sales and service network further in Bengaluru, Skoda has just inaugurated its fifth dealership. Located in the northern part of Karnataka’s capital, it is the second outlet in partnership with PPS Motors. If you’re keen to know the address, here it is: Sy No. 1A, Block 20, Jakkur Plantation Village, Yelahanka Hobli, New Airport Road, Bengaluru North – 560064. The showroom can display six cars in an overall area of 5,000 sq. ft.
Supporting the showroom is a newly opened workshop. That’s located at Sy No 44, Geddahalli Village, opposite Mantri Splendor Apartments, Hennur Road, Bengaluru East – 560077. It is spread over 30,000 sq. ft. and can serve between 800 – 1,000 cars every month. Skoda says that the facility in question has 23 service bays, backed by the latest equipment and infrastructure. A team of over 60 will handle end-to-end operations at the workshop and the showroom.
Here’s what Zac Hollis, who is the brand director at Skoda Auto India, said in an official release:
To ensure preparedness for India 2.0 launches, we at Skoda Auto India are continually striving to expand our network reach, across the nation, so that more and more customers can experience our products and also enjoy easy access to our customer-centric aftersales solutions. Bengaluru is a key market for us in South India, and we are confident that our partnership with PPS Motors will be pivotal for the brand and will further strengthen our foothold in Karnataka.
In Southern India, Skoda already has 39 authorised touchpoints. Under India 2.0 project, the Czech brand plans to have at least twice as many dealerships today by 2022. In Bengaluru, there are at least two more dealerships planned. Skoda says that it will have a presence in fifty new cities across India in the next three years.
Besides expanding the footprint, Skoda also plans to launch an array of products over the same period. Leading the pack will be the Kushaq compact SUV, followed by a replacement for the Rapid. Both those models will be underpinned by Volkswagen Group’s MQB-A0-IN platform, which will also serve Volkswagen-branded products.
