At Least 13 Mercedes-Benz Models Heading To Auto Expo 2020
Several foreign players have decided to skip the fifteenth edition of the Auto Expo. The biennial automotive event opens its gate to the public on February 7, 2020. Mercedes-Benz, however, isn’t one of them. It has decided to shrug off a troubled 2019 and press on the accelerator even harder. To showcase just that, the German brand will have at least thirteen different models on display. And a few amongst those will launch in India later this year.
In the SUV space, Mercedes-Benz will have the recently launched GLC, the upcoming GLE and the new GLA. The last of the three made its global premiere in December last year. And before 2020 comes to an end, Mercedes’ entry-level SUV will launch in India as well. Another model which tick the ‘entry-level’ box is the A-Class sedan. In all probability, Mercedes-Benz will replace the CLA with the A-Class sedan in India. Interestingly, the carmaker’s Indian arm has labelled it as the A-Class limousine and confirmed that the car would launch later this year.
Filling up the sedans section will be the Mercedes-Maybach, E-Class and Mercedes-Benz certified C-Class. Another model that will grab attention is the EQC 400 4MATIC Edition 1886. The company recently showcased it to introduce its EQ sub-brand in India. During the same event, Mercedes-Benz also confirmed that the standard model (not the Edition 1886 which has a lot of optional extras fitted) would launch in April 2020.
No AMG models? How’s that possible! Spearheading the performance-oriented range of cars will be the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupé. Expect the company not only showcase the world’s fastest series production four-seater but also slap on a price tag at the Auto Expo 2020. Filling the AMG side will be the G 63, A 35 sedan and the C 43 Coupé. From a possible future, the Volocopter concept will be on display as well.
In addition to the ones mentioned above, Mercedes-Benz India has more models in the pipeline. That includes the GLB, the new GLS and Coupé versions of the GLC and the GLE. When will these models get into the Indian market is one question that remains unanswered, for now.
