Audi doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned for the e-tron. That’s why it plans to offer the EV (Electric Vehicle) in multiple derivatives, details of which were revealed yesterday. And now, we’ve got more dope on how the brand aims to deliver “peace of mind” to all e-tron buyers.
To start with, all three variants of the e-tron will come with a two-year warranty. However, their lithium-ion batteries will be covered for eight years or 1,60,000km, whichever is earlier. Besides that, the zero-emissions vehicle will come with a complimentary membership to roadside assistance for five years. Those who want to purchase an extension on the standard warranty have options for an additional two or three years. That means buyers can have a five-year warranty for their pure-electric Audi.
Alternatively, one could opt for a service plan, covering certain costs for four or five years. What’s covered? The costs of service and the periodic maintenance of the brakes and suspension. Audi has even roped in the extended warranty package in service plans. In a nutshell, this is a wholesome package for someone who requires both a service plan and an extended warranty.
That’s not all. Audi is also offering the e-tron with a buyback guarantee. Depending on the condition and within three years from the date of purchase, the company will take EV off the customer’s hand and offer a good value in return. This will work for both who want to sell their e-tron or, perhaps, upgrade to a more luxurious Audi.
Bookings for the Audi e-tron opened last month. It is up for grabs in two body styles – SUV and Sportback – and as many variants – 50 Quattro and 55 Quattro. Audi will reveal e-tron’s price list on July 22, 2021. The car will rival the Jaguar I-Pace and the Mercedes-Benz EQC in India. So, will Audi come on top in the luxury EV game? Only time will tell.
