Isuzu Motors India introduced the refreshed D-Max V-Cross in June this year. Back then and until now, the pickup had just two variants – standard and Z (High). Now, there’s a third derivative. The company has launched a limited-edition variant of the D-Max V-Cross. Dubbed as the Z-Prestige variant, it is priced at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). That’s Rs 2.93 lakh more than the Z variant.

So, why such a huge difference? Well, the Z-Prestige variant has a lot going for itself to justify that price gap. First of all, it is powered by a 1.9-litre diesel engine which produces 148hp/350Nm. Compared to the 2.5-litre diesel mill that is offered in the other two variants, the smaller engine has 14hp/30Nm more oomph. Secondly, the new engine comes mated to an all-new transmission – a 6-speed automatic. And yes, the shift-on-fly four-wheel-drive system is also part of the kit.

Thirdly, the newly introduced variant packs more features when compared to the previous range-topping trim. The list of new features includes two-tone brown-grey perforated leather seats, speakers on the roof, six airbags, break-override system and the soft-touch finish on door armrests and front floor console armrest. Other gizmos such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, three USB ports, two accessory sockets, Bi-LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, roof rails, 18-inch alloy wheels, 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and cruise control are also part of the package.

Isuzu is offering the new variant in four colours – Ruby Red, Cosmic Black, Silky Pearl White and Sapphire Blue. As standard, the D-Max V-Cross comes with a 3 years/1,00,000km warranty. The company has started accepting bookings for the Z-Prestige variant. It will be produced alongside all other Isuzu Motor India models at SriCity, Andhra Pradesh.
