Did you know that Kia claimed the title of clocking the fastest 2.5 lakh sales in India? That’s quite an achievement. To keep things updated and fresh, Kia has introduced its new brand identity, including a new logo and a new name, in India. The company has ditched the ‘Kia Motors India’ name favouring a simpler ‘Kia India’. There’s also a new slogan that goes with the striking yet simple logo – “Movement that inspires”. India becomes the second country, after South Korea, to witness the introduction of Kia’s logo.
Kia India has confirmed that early in May 2021, it will introduce the updated Sonet and Seltos. Besides boasting the new logo inside out, both SUVs are likely to get revised lists of features and variants. Specific details haven’t surfaced just yet. As per Kia, someone buys one of its cars every two minutes. Also, every third model sold in the compact SUV space is a Seltos, whereas every sixth subcompact SUV is a Sonet.
The company also confirmed that it would enter an all-new segment next year. In all probability, the new model will introduce Kia in the compact MPV segment. In other words, Kia’s likely to land a rival for Maruti Suzuki’s Ertiga and XL6 in 2022. Also, expect Kia to launch the fourth-gen Carnival sometime next year.
In addition to launching new products, the Korean carmaker is also expanding its reach to more customers across India. By the end of 2021, the company aims to have 360 touchpoints spread across 218 cities. Those numbers will also cover tier-III and tier-IV towns.
In a short period, Kia India has become the fourth highest-selling car brand in the country. And it hasn’t achieved that by selling the least-expensive stuff. According to the carmaker, nearly 60 per cent of its sales come from top variants of the Seltos, Sonet and Carnival.
