A few will argue against the potent package that the Ford Endeavour brings to the party. We surely won’t! Ford’s flagship SUV in India has always had a brawny charm of its own and not many vehicles in its category can match that. However, to keep it afresh and lure customers away from the competition, Ford India has launched the updated Endeavour. It is priced between Rs 28.19 lakh and Rs 32.97 lakh (ex-showroom). Before we move to what’s new about the seven-seater SUV, let’s look at the detailed price list:
Ford Endeavour Facelift Price List (ex-showroom)
Trim | 2.2-Litre | 3.2-Litre |
---|---|---|
4x2 MT Titanium | Rs 28.19 Lakh | - |
4x2 AT Titanium+ | Rs 30.60 Lakh | - |
4x4 AT Titanium+ | - | Rs 32.97 Lakh |
While the 2.2-litre MT is a new variant, the other two are now noticeably less expensive than before. What’s new? On the outside, the updated Ford Endeavour features a new front grille, revised bumpers, smoked headlamps and new 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, Ford has ditched the brown and beige upholstery in favour of a more welcoming black and beige theme. In terms of features, it now offers keyless-entry-and-go, handsfree boot opening tech (just wave your foot beneath the rear bumper and the boot lid pops open), 8-way power adjustable front seats and puddle lamps. Also, you might have noticed, there is no Trend trim available anymore.
The Endeavour never had a shallow list of creature comforts and the new additions just make the SUV even more appealing. It continues to be offered with features like an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Ford’s SYNC3, 7 airbags, dual-zone climate control, a massive panoramic sunroof, terrain management system, tyre pressure monitoring system, semi-auto parallel park, auto headlamps and wipers and LED DRLs.
The Ford Endeavour facelift carries forward the same engines. The 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine pumps out 160PS/385Nm, whereas the 3.2-litre, 5-cylinder turbo-diesel mill is good for 200PS/470Nm. While both engines are available with a 6-speed automatic transmission, only the smaller engine that can be had with a 6-speed manual unit. What’s more, the potent 4×4 drive system is reserved for the bigger engine. Ford claims that with the manual transmission, the Endeavour can return 14.2kmpl, whereas, with the automatic unit, the mileage figure goes up to 12.62kmpl.
In India, the Ford Endeavour facelift renews its rivalry with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Mahindra Alturas G4 and the Isuzu MU-X. Other SUVs such as the Mitsubishi Outlander, Skoda Kodiaq, Honda CR-V and the Volkswagen Tiguan also fall in the same sort of price bracket.
