For all those who like their personal transportation blacked- and greyed-out, the list of options has just widened. Tata Motors has launched its #Dark range of cars. Besides reintroducing the Harrier #Dark Edition in a tweaked form, the automaker has also devised similar derivatives of the Altroz, Nexon and Nexon EV. Bookings for the newly introduced variants are open. And, to add some zest into the mix, Tata Motors has also launched exclusive merchandise, including #Dark-branded leather jackets and T-shirts. Also, the company has equipped all #Dark Editions with a tyre puncture repair kit.

Tata Altroz #Dark

To create it, Tata Motors took the top-tier XZ+ trim level and garnished it with stuff like Cosmo Dark body paint, 16-inch alloys in dark tint finish, dark chrome accents on the hood and #Dark logo. Indoors, the Altroz #Dark Edition features a granite-black theme coupled with metallic gloss black mid-pad, leatherette seat covers with tri-arrow perforations and blue stitching and #Dark branding embroidered on front headrests.

You can have the Altroz #Dark with either the 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine or the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol. They are mechanically the same. As in the case with the car, the only transmission option is a 5-speed manual. Prices? The non-turbocharged variant costs Rs 8.71 lakh, whereas the turbo one Rs 9.36 lakh.

Tata Nexon #Dark

The darkened treatment is available in XZ+, XZA+, XZ+(O) and XZA+(O) trim levels, with both petrol and diesel engines. They feature different stuff such as Altas Black exterior colour, 16-inch Charcoal shade alloy wheels, Sonic Silver beltline and #Dark branding. Inside the cabin, it features a dashboard with tri-arrow motifs and black leatherette seats with tri-arrow perforations. Stuff like #Dark embroidery on the front headrest and door trims with the tri-arrow theme are also part of the package.

The engines offer the same power and torque as they do in the rest of the range. You can have them with both the 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed AMT. As for the prices, here they are:

  • Petrol #Dark
    • Nexon XZ+ – Rs 10.40 lakh
    • Nexon XZ+(O) – Rs 11.30 lakh
    • Nexon XZA+ – Rs 11 lakh
    • Nexon XZA+(O) – Rs 11.90 lakh

Tata Nexon EV #Dark

The new derivative of the all-electric subcompact SUV is available in two trim levels – XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. To justify the dark theme, they’ve been given a Midnight black body colour, 16-inch Charcoal grey alloys, Satin black humanity line and beltline and #Dark logo. Inside, there’s a dark themed leatherette upholstery with tri-arrow perforations and EV blue highlight stitches. The tri-arrow theme is also carried over to the glossy black dashboard and seat covers. Other inclusions are a leatherette steering cover, #Dark embroidery on the front headrests and 60:40 split rear seat with armrest, cupholders and adjustable headrests.

On the powertrain front, there are no changes to report. In XZ+ form, the Nexon EV #Dark costs Rs 15.99 lakh. Opt it in the range-topping XZ+ Lux version, and the sticker price jumps to Rs 16.85 lakh.

Tata Harrier #Dark

Up until now, the Harrier was the only product that already had the #Dark Edition option. Now, however, Tata Motors has made a few changes. The #Dark treatment is available in XT+, XZ+ and XZA+ variants. The package includes 18-inch Blackstone alloys, Oberon Black exterior paint with a tinge of Deep Blue and piano black elements. As for the interior, the all-black theme is accompanied by dark chrome accents, tri-arrow perforations with deep blue undertone and #Dark embroidery on the front headrests.

As is the case with all other #Dark models above, the Harrier carries forward an unaltered powertrain and the same list of features. Here are the variant-wise prices:

  • Harrier XT+ #Dark – Rs 18.04 lakh
  • Harrier XZ+ #Dark – Rs 19.89 lakh
  • Harrier XZA+ #Dark – Rs 21.09 lakh
