Saar: It is priced at Rs 1.92 crore (ex-showroom), the same as we reported in April 2018.

Porsche has started accepting bookings for the all-new Cayenne in India. The only variant it is currently taking bookings for is the Turbo, which as we reported last month, is priced at Rs 1.92 crore (ex-showroom India). The Cayenne will reach dealerships across the country next month. Later in the year, Porsche will launch the standard, S and E-Hybrid variants of the Cayenne too.

The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 550PS of power and 770Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic unit which helps the SUV crack the 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 286kmph. With the Sports Chrono Package, that 0-100kmph time tumbles down to 3.9 seconds. To get the best traction, Porsche’s all-wheel-drive comes as part of the standard kit.

New Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid Has More Than Just A “Greener” Heart

As far as the design of the new Porsche Cayenne is concerned, the overall silhouette is pretty similar to the old model. In fact, that’s the case will all Porsche, mass-produced models and it has been the case for decades. Anyway, the new Cayenne is lighter (by 65kg) on its feet than its predecessor because it has a more extensive use of aluminium in its package. The new Cayenne, for the first time, is offered with rear-axle steering. Other mechanical features include Porsche 4D Chassis Control, three-chamber air suspension and the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control.

On the features front, the Cayenne Turbo will come with LED headlamps (Matrix LEDs available as an optional extra), newly designed 21-inch alloy wheels and a speed-sensitive adaptive roof spoiler (on an SUV!). Inside the cabin, the Cayenne gets more kit as standard than before. The list includes a centre console with touch-sensitive buttons, 18-way adjustable sports electric seats, 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, two high-resolution displays with an analogue tachometer and a multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters.

In India, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo competes with the likes of Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, Range Rover Sport Autobiography and the recently launched Lexus LX 570.
