As promised, Nissan has started accepting bookings for its upcoming SUV, the Kicks, with a minimum token amount of Rs 25,000. If you are one from the interested lot, you can book the Nissan Kicks by either visiting your nearest, authorised dealership or online via Nissan India’s website. The Kicks will launch in India sometime next month.
In an official statement, Hardeep Singh Brar, director, sales and commercial, Nissan Motors India Ltd., said:
“The new Nissan Kicks is a testimony to our commitment to bring the best of global products and technology to our customers in India. We are confident that with its progressive SUV design and advanced technology, the Kicks will appeal to new-age urban adventure seekers.”
Nissan has already shared quite a lot about the Kicks. It will be available with two engine-transmission combinations, both from the Renault Captur. The 1.5-litre diesel engine will produce 110PS of power and 240Nm of torque, whereas the 1.5-litre petrol mill will pump out 106PS of power and 142Nm of torque. While the former will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the latter will get a 5-speed manual unit.
The list of features will be extensive too. A couple of first-in-segment gizmos include an around-view 360-degree camera and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Nissan Kicks will also come with rain-sensing wipers, cooled and illuminated glovebox, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps and cruise control. Apart from features like dual airbags and ABS with EBD & Brake Assist, the automatic climate control will come as standard across all trim levels.
With the Kicks, Nissan is aiming to turn its fortunes around in India. The company is likely to price the Kicks between Rs 10-15 lakh (ex-showroom). That means once it is launched, it will take on its step-sisters from Renault – Duster and Captur – and the king of the segment – Hyundai Creta.
