Saar: As promised, the light-coloured cabin layout will be available in seven- or eight-seat configuration.

Mahindra, it seems, has learnt a thing or two from carmakers which like to unfold their upcoming products bit by bit. The Scorpio-maker’s next-in-line product is called the Marazzo, which will launch by the end of September this year. The MPV was earlier codenamed as the U321. But, on July 31, 2018, it was officially christened as the Marazzo. A week or so later, Mahindra revealed the dashboard design of its newest three-row people carrier. Now though, the company has used its social media accounts to unveil the versatility of the Marazzo’s cabin.

Take a peek at another previously unreleased feature – the shark-inspired Marazzo’s incredibly spacious cabin. The #MahindraMarazzo seats up to 8 people in luxurious comfort. Sign up to know more on http://bit.ly/New_MahindraMarazzo

The GIF picture confirms that with the captain seats in the second row, the Mahindra Marazzo will be able to accommodate seven passengers. Both the second-row seats will fold away for the ingress-egress of third-row passengers. The other option will be an eight-seater configuration, with a three-person 40:20:40 split bench-type seat, in the second row. That’s great! But, if you look closely, the second row of seats don’t have a sliding function. That’s not a welcome omission.

Another visible aspect is the mediocre legroom for the second-row passengers. Sure, that can be improved by sliding the front seats forward but without the sliding function in the second row, it could be a deal breaker. The comfort for the third row of seats will be at par with what we’ve come to expect from compact MPVs. There is a noticeable hump on the floor and that means the last row of seats will, at best, be suitable for children. The last row of seats will also fold away to increase the cargo space.

The headrests are adjustable for all seats, except for the second-row middle seat in the eight-seater configuration. The front and the second-row passengers (with captain seats) get dedicated adjustable armrests, which will help in enhancing the comfort factor. The third-row occupants get bottle holders, embedded into the interior body panel.

So, there you have it. The cabin area, although roomy, doesn’t seem to be as flexible as we would have liked. That said, the real picture will only pop out once the car is out in the open. Expect Mahindra to release more teasers of the Marazzo as the launch date nears.
