Saar: They have been christened as Titanium S and Titanium Signature.

Ford is one carmaker that knows how to keep itself busy, especially in India. The refreshed EcoSport, which went on sale in November last year, gained a new variant in March this year. That was the Titanium+ petrol-manual variant, with the new 1.5-litre petrol engine, and it was priced at Rs 10.47 lakh (ex-showroom India). That price, by the way, has already risen to Rs 10.52 lakh. Clearly, adding one variant wasn’t enough because the American carmaker is all set to add two more variants to the EcoSport’s lineup. They, as captured in the spy shots, will be tagged as the Titanium S and the Titanium Signature.

We’ve seen several reports online that specimens of the new Ford EcoSport variants have started reaching dealerships. Now though, thanks to a Facebook group and its user named Prince Verma, we can clearly see what is to be expected from the Titanium S and Titanium Signature variants. Here’s a video to get you started:

Titanium Signature

It is likely to be based on the standard Titanium variant of the Ford EcoSport. That means, it will miss out on features like the 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Ford’s SYNC3 and will instead make do with a 9.0-inch unit with built-in GPS navigation. The latter lacks the support to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well. Other possible omissions could include rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and cruise control.

If that’s a bit disappointing, don’t worry because the Titanium Signature will gain some bespoke features over the standard Titanium variant. The list includes:

  • Electric sunroof
  • 17-inch diamond cut dual-tone alloy wheels
  • New interiors with body colour matching inserts
  • Black headlamp and fog lamp bezels
  • New spoiler
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Traction Control System (TCS)
  • Glossy black grille with chrome surround
  • Will be available in four body colours – Diamond White, Absolute Black, Moondust Silver and Lightening Blue (pictured).
  • Choice of engines and transmissions: 1.5-litre diesel and 1.5-litre petrol (both manual) from the standard EcoSport.

Price-wise, it is likely to be at par or above the standard Titanium+ (petrol-manual variant). For the record, the Ford EcoSport Titanium+ petrol-automatic is priced at Rs 11.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Titanium S

Unlike the Titanium Signature, the Titanium S variant will, in all probability, be based on the standard Titanium+ variant. That means not only will it get all the bells and whistles inside and outside the cabin, but also a lot more to claim the range-topping tag. The added list of features could include:

  • Electric Sunroof
  • HID headlamps
  • Dual-tone exterior paint
  • Bespoke 17-inch alloy wheels
  • New interiors with body colour matching inserts
  • Contrasting seat cover stitching
  • Black roof rails
  • Black headlamp and fog lamp bezels
  • Glossy black grille with chrome surround
  • 4.2-inch MID (it will become the only variant to get it) – See the embedded video below.
  • Will be available in all standard colour options
  • Choice of engines and transmissions: manual 1.5-litre diesel and manual 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine (possibly in the higher 140PS state of tune)

Considering the added kit and the possibility of the 140PS EcoBoost engine, this will surely topple the Rs 12 lakh mark and will surely become the sole perpetrator to give the Hyundai Creta a run for its money.

The expected launch of these two new variants is by the end of this month. That means, before the Ford EcoSport facelift completes 7 months in existence, it will have gained three new variants. Now that’s how you keep yourself busy!
