In a bid to get some sales figures under the belt from the A6 range, Audi India has introduced a new trim level called the Lifestyle Edition. Priced at Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom India), it is Rs 5.89 lakh and Rs 6.70 lakh less expensive than the Technology trim of the petrol and diesel variants, respectively. Since the engine options remain the same, it is the level of kit that will differentiate between the two trims.

The Audi A6 Lifestyle Edition brings with it three special features. One – two 10-inch rear entertainment displays which are mounted behind the headrests of the front seats. The two screens are essentially tablet PCs which are also capable to connect to the internet. Two – Espresso Mobil. As the name suggests, it is a compact coffee maker. Three – logo projectors mounted beneath the outside rearview mirrors.

As mentioned above, the Lifestyle Edition trim is available both A6 engines. The one which wears the 35 TFSI logo is powered by a 1.8-litre, turbo-petrol engine which produced 190PS/320Nm. Diesel lovers will have settle for the 35 TDI mark which brings a 2.0-litre, turbocharged motor with 190PS/400Nm on tap. Both engines are mated to the same 7-speed automatic transmission.

In a press release, Rahil Ansari, Head, Audi India, said:

Luxury is about having a range of choices and at Audi, we always strive to offer the best configurations in our Audi range to our discerning customers. The Audi A6 Lifestyle Edition has been configured specially for Audi customers who are looking forward to enjoy the thrill of driving in the lap of luxury.

He went on to deliver some insight on what Audi India is planning to bring this year:

I am excited to announce that we have an interesting year coming up in 2019, the Year of the ‘8’s with our flagship models to come. The focus of this year will clearly be on continuing to offer our customers and Audi enthusiasts a new and exhilarating line up of products to choose from and to own their favourite Audi.

Allow us to reiterate. The year of the ‘8’s clearly points at the introduction of the all-new Audi A8 sedan and the Q8 SUV. Apart from those, Audi India is also due to land the next-gen A6 and Q3 models. Audi’s first-ever pure-electric vehicle – the e-tron – is also tipped to make its India debut in the near future.
