After opening bookings for the C5 Aircross at the beginning of last month, Citroen India has now revealed the car’s prices. The SUV is available in two trims – Feel and Shine. The former is priced at Rs 29.9 lakh (Rs 30.4 lakh for dual-tone finish), whereas the latter wears a sticker price of Rs 31.9 lakh. All those numbers are introductory in nature. Before you frown away, remember that Citroen’s first product for India arrives via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. The company assembles it at its facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu.

No matter which of the two variants you choose, the C5 Aircross will pack the same powertrain. That’s made up of a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine with 174bhp/400Nm on tap and 8-speed automatic transmission. Citroen claims that the SUV is efficient enough to deliver as high as 18.6kmpl.

As far as the list of features goes, it is mostly the same for both trim levels. So, stuff like an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic headlamps, tyre pressure monitoring system, Blind Spot Information System and push-button start are standard. The only creature comforts exclusive to the costlier variant are a panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps and hands-free tailgate operation.

You can have the C5 Aircross in seven different exterior finishes. There are four monotone colour options and three dual-tone. The former category comprises Pearl White, Cumulus Grey, Tijuca Blue and Perla Nera Black, whereas the latter covers the white, grey and blue shades with black roof. As for the standard warranty, the C5 Aircross comes with a 3 years/1,00,000km cover. Yes, 247 roadside assistance is also part of the package. Citroen is also offering extended warranty and maintenance packages.

The C5 Aircross comes as a direct rival for the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson. Soon, the Volkswagen Tiguan facelift will join the party. Out of the three, which one would you prefer?
